Where is Africa Anyway Safari's situated?
We are situated in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. It is the safest hunting destination in South Africa.
We have two international airports – Johannesburg and Cape Town. At Johannesburg or Cape Town you will clear customs and then fly domestically to Port Elizabeth. Clients are collected from the Port Elizabeth airport by safari vehicle and enjoy an easy drive inland for about two and a half hours to one of our lodges.
Do I need a visa to visit South Africa?
You will need a passport that is not going to expire for at least 6 months after your arrival back home. Also very important: 3 blank pages available for stamps. You do not need a Visa to travel to South Africa, but it is important that you check with your travel agent for all travel requirements as they do change from time to time and are different from country to country.
Do I need a permit for guns and ammo?
We will supply you with the necessary documents to apply for a temporary import permit for your weapons, valid for the duration of your stay. This document needs to be presented to the security services at customs. We will also supply you with a copy of our professional hunters license, as well as a copy of our Outfitters license, and a letter of invitation to hunt with us. These documents must be produced at Johannesburg International Airport or Cape Town Airport, customs. Please bring a proof of purchase or ownership document with your firearm.
Can I use someone of my preference to dip and pack or mount my trophies? (Taxidermy)

However, if your wish to use someone of your own choice, it will be no problem at all.
May I leave a tip for the PH/staff?
Tips are an integral part of all in the hunting camps.
A good guide line is approx 10% of the value of the hunt.
Tips do however vary according to the type of hunt you are on and where you are hunting.
I will however advise you accordingly at the completion of the hunt.
How do I pay for my safari?
A deposit of 50% of the daily rate is required to confirm your booking. Deposits can be paid via wire transfer or credit card. Banking details will be supplied on request. It is important to inform your bank about your planned foreign country safari, in order to prepare for transactions. No cheques will be accepted.
What is the best time of the year to hunt in South Africa?
In South Africa we have no fixed season and hunting can be done at any time of the year, but we recommend April – October. Bare in mind that our seasons are different to the Northern Hemisphere.
What calibre rifle would be recommended?
It is recommended that for plains game a 30 caliber and for any of your dangerous game hunts the minimum requirement by law is 375. Alternatively hiring guns from Africa Anyway Safaris is available.
What is the climate like?
- Summer: November to April temperatures can range in from 15C/59F - 45C/113F
- Winter: May to October temperatures can range from -6C/21F - 25C/77F
- The best time to hunt is between April and October
What is there to do for the non-hunters?
Non hunters can walk or hike in a safe environment, enjoying our diversity of nature in fauna and flora. Non hunters enjoy being a part of the hunting day, taking photographs and tracking with the hunters.
A day at the Spa to relax and get pampered is also available (on request). Visits to photographic game reserves can be arranged and is within a 2 hour road trip from our location.
Do I need to take any special medical precautions?
No. We are a malaria and bilharzia free area and have access to professional medical facilities within a short period of time. You need only bring your personal medical needs. It is advised to take out medical insurance before departure on an African safari.
What should be included in my Safari Checklist?
4 or 5 Hunting Shirts
Loose fitting pants or jeans
Warm Jacket or fleece
Sun Protection Hat
Gloves in winter
Comfortable light weight outdoor shoes
Comfortable shoes or sandals to wear around camp
Rifle and Ammunition

What does the daily rate include?
Services of experienced trackers, skinners and camp staff.
Full accommodation, meals and daily laundry.
Preservation of Trophies in the field
A Hunting License, covering all game, purchased on your behalf.
Alcoholic Beverages – wine and malt in Moderation
Transportation by road, to and from Port Elizabeth or other hunting areas
What is NOT included in the daily rate?
Accommodation and travel charges before and after the contracted safari.
Travel expenses between initial and subsequent hunting areas.
Air Charters between hunting areas where required.
The hire of rifles and ammunition.
Specialty food items.
Railage of Trophies to Taxidermists or Exporter.
Field Trophy Dipping and Packing.
Export Trophy, Dipping, Packing and Freighting.
V.A.T. at 14 % , as per Government Regulations on daily rate and or any non-exportable items
